Lana Top from Coffee and Thread with Nosh Fabrics

As soon as I saw the Lana Top, the latest women's pattern from Coffee and Thread, I knew I had to drop everything and sew one (or three!) for myself.

This pattern is the second women's pattern from Coffee and Thread (the first is the Sirocco Top and Dress), and it is a good one! I was doubly excited because I had just gotten a serger (woo hoo!) and had been practicing on it so that I would be ready when the testing period started. I made my muslin in a size 2 (my bust measurement is a bit smaller and my waist is a bit larger than the size 2). I was pleased with how it fit, so I moved on to making a dress with some Nosh Organic fabric that I had been saving for myself. You might have seen it already HERE.

For my final version, I finally took out my precious HIPPU fabric that I had been saving for "when I get a serger" - yes, that is a real category in my mind - (I made this top in the colorway Vanilla, but I also have the Begonia Pink in my stash). As in the case of all Nosh fabrics I have sewn with so far, it sews up like a dream. I love how the ruffled sleeve looks in this fabric. Another lovely detail is the slight shaping the semi-fitted tee gives - in my case, I loved that the dress version in particular gave me the illusion of a more womanly figure!

The downloadable PDF pattern comes in sizes 2-20, and it is a layered pattern so you can choose which size you want to print. There are also copy shop files for those who prefer not to print at home. Another thing I love is that I could make it from about a meter of fabric! Yay!

The culottes I am wearing are the Ninni Culottes by Named Patterns that I made once before, also sewn with Nosh Jersey Plus in black. Sooooooo comfortable!

The Lana Top is on sale in the Coffee and Thread shop for US$9.00 until Thursday, May 10th, and if you join the Coffee and Thread Facebook group, you will find a special discount just for members. And if you want to treat yourself to some lovely Nosh Organic fabric to sew it with, you can find all the new fabrics HERE. You won't regret it!

*I received the pattern in exchange for testing, and I received the fabrics courtesy of Nosh, but all of the views expressed in this post are my own.*

And now I will leave you with a windswept photo taken in my favorite spot:

Happy sewing!
